We have a midwife team based in the new 1st floor clinical area. All pregnant patients will have a registered midwife who will assess and help manage all pregnancy related problems. Patients can also see a GP regarding any problems in pregnancy. For an appointment please speak to a member of the reception team.
All our nurses are trained in childhood immunisation. Children will normally receive a letter from the health authority inviting parents to bring them into the surgery for their vaccinations. Details of the immunisation schedule are also present in the baby's 'red book'. Parents can discuss any immunisation issues or questions they may have with the practice nurse or with their GP.
Women who qualify for cervical smears can arrange for a smear by booking an appointment with any of practice nurses.
Complex Case Management Clinics:
Your GP may arrange for you to come to one of our internal Complex Case Management Clinics. These are specialist clinics with longer appointment times held by our senior clinicians or clinicians with a special interest in a particular field. It is not possible to book an appointment at these clinics but your own GP may refer you if he or she feels it is relevant.
Asthma, COPD, Epilepsy, Hypertension, Heart disease and Diabetes:
Patients with these conditions will require an annual review with a practice nurse. In addition all patients on long term medications (including the contraceptive pill) and with any chronic (long term illness) will be sent a reminder for a six monthly or annual review with their GP.
You can book an appointment with a specialist practice nurse for this clinic. The nurse will also be able to answer any questions you may have regarding travel to specific countries.
You can also visit these websites for additional information :

You can get contraception advice from your GP or practice nurse. Some of the GP's in the practice also offer additional procedures like contraceptive implants.
Phlebotomy service and investigative procedures:
You can book to have blood tests carried out in the surgery. Routine procedures like ecg, spirometry (breathing tests) and gynaecological assessments are also carried out in the surgery.
The above services are in addition to a full range of General practice medical and nursing services.
